Photography

Teenagers really get a bad rap. They're called lazy, uninspired, bored, disinterested, and worse. But that's not what I see. The teenagers I know, the ones that have been given time and space and support for their creativity, are curious and engaged. They come up with interesting ideas and love to share them. They are artists, writers, scientists, makers, musicians, and big thinkers.

I love that my daughter is surrounded by these kinds of teens, and I love to see what kinds of things they come up with. Ava's closest friend is an amazing girl, and when they get together...oh, boy, there is never a dull moment. Besides the typical teenage giggling, talking, and internet surfing, they always have a number of projects in progress. Recently, they've been doing photo shoots together.

I snapped this photo-shoot-in-progress pic yesterday. I haven't seen the results of the shoot yet, but I am looking forward to seeing what they came up with!
