I've been radio silent lately but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy creating! I've been doing less creating (unless you count new class content for work!), but I did have the opportunity to go to a Perseverance training put on by Search Institute. It was amazing and validated much of what we do here at home. More on that to come....
Avery has been busy finishing up a symphony she composed for the Texas Young Composers competition. It's all finished and submitted, and nothing's left but the waiting. But whether her composition gets chosen or not, it has been an amazing learning experience. She has learned so much about orchestrating for instruments other than strings, composing longer works, and composition in general. She is already talking about what she will do differently next year, so I'd consider this project a success!
Rhys and Griffin have been busy working on Griffin's new Youtube channel. This has been in the works for Griffin for a long time, but he hasn't been satisfied with any of his video attempts until now. But now he's running with it! He has uploaded 4, and has another he's working on. So far this project has included: learning how to play Minecraft, researching video capture software, learning to use it, add audio, export, and upload to Youtube. Rhys has been his right hand man in this whole venture. (Griffin's Minecraft name is Gmacn and Rhys is HornsBaseball.)
